Our History

M & J AUTO REPAIR WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1989 BY MARK AND RICHARD FAWCETT

The business started as a mobile vehicle repair and service operation in one of the hardest recessions of current times.

We slowly built a loyal customer base and acquired our first rented premises on Clarence Dock where we started to repair accident damage and bodywork as well as general servicing and repairs.

We moved from Clarence Dock to Jack Lane unit two and eventually acquired unit one and unit three. Throughout our twenty three years at Jack Lane, we have focussed on growing the business and constantly investing in new equipment, technology, highly experienced staff and training.

In 2000, we opened our first mot station and never looked back. The addition of new services allowed us to employ new members of staff and build on our already impressive customer base.

During this period, diagnostics were starting to become a major headache for most smaller garages in the region. M&J took the bold decision to invest in the latest equipment and training to become one of a few garages in the region offering this specialist service to customers and other garages that had not invested in the necessary equipment and training to carry out these types of repair.

In 2014 we took our biggest decision to date and moved to our new purpose-built workshops on Butterley Street Leeds LS10 1AW, just around the corner from our previous Jack Lane premises.

We look forward to continuing a proud tradition of growth and proven success.
